Drama At Mars Hill

Poor Mark Driscoll. The megachurch pastor is in hot water after some of his former colleagues have accused him of engaging in bullying, verbal abuse and intimidation, and being rude, disrespectful and belittling, especially when being questioned.
On an article on Patheos, 21 pastors that worked at Mars Hill Church, which he founded, have filed formal complaints citing at least 25 different instances. Among them is church co-founder and Driscoll's friend, Leif Moi. Does this kind of arrogant behavior sound like Pharisee-ism, or is it just me? Seems like it was just a matter of time. I used to respect Driscoll way back when because of his neutral position on masturbation (although, lusting and porn were still out of the question, according to him), but this was before my eyes were opened on the issue of lust not being inherently sinful. I take it back. I don't feel sorry for Mark Driscoll. A christian leader is supposed to show humility, be of good behavior, be just, blameless, self-controlled and not quick-tempered, and last, but certainly not least, have a good reputation with those around him. Does this describe Mr. Driscoll? No, it does not. He is exhibiting pride and arrogance, and an unwillingness to be open-minded, something that seems to naturally happen when one has been in an office for a while. It does not matter if it's an office in the Church or an office in politics, it still results in pride. Driscoll should be removed from leadership and I've heard a few days ago that he did voluntarily resign from his position at Mars Hill amidst the allegations. Hopefully, he'll get some perspective through this and learn some much needed humility.
